Stop Thanksgiving

STOP!

That’s not an easy word to hear or heed to.  Between the global debt crisis (an economic statement), Black Friday campers and deals (an economic function of Consumerism not Capitalism), Our men and women in our Armed  Forces, Federal Agencies, Private Military Contractors that are away from family and friends, airport security and the guy in the fast lane not even getting close to the speed limit, we must STOP!

Being thankful during Thanksgiving is tough so I thought I would offer some suggestions on how to stop without shutting off electronic devices.

1.  If you have friends and family overseas, send them a specific message thru FB or call them using Skype.

2.  Call someone in your family on the phone, Facetime, etc.  I’m calling Dad, my kids and a couple of great friends that I haven’t had comms with in a while.

3.  Go run your Thanksgiving 5k for charity and purposely have a PW!  Personal Worst.

4.  Eat too much.  Screw the diet.

5.  Write down 10 goals to accomplish by Thanksgiving 2012.

6.  Now shut off all forms of electronic communications (my longest was for 2 weeks in Papua New Guinnea), grab your significant other and focus on being in the now.
